This session looks at the environment in which facilitators within a Vocational Education and Training (VET) framework operate.
It takes you on a journey of exploration around VET inception, policy, stakeholders and alignment to your practice environment. It explores competency-based training and assessment as the philosophy that underpins the environment and introduces you to industry relevant Training Packages: nationally consistent, industry recognised benchmarks.
The crux of this workshop is working with training packages to meet client needs. The session introduces you to the notion of 'un-packing' training packages and competency standards for use within the design and development of learning programs and assessment procedures.
This session is a MUST for all facilitators operating within a Voc-Ed environment and very useful for other facilitators to understand that there is a very BIG world of training and assessment out there and a multitude of resources that can be used by everyone.
In other words, "why re-invent the wheel?" This is an excellent environment in which to operate, endorsed by the Federal Government and supported in all States and Territories. |
