This session introduces the 'art of negotiation' and methods for successfully negotiating win-win outcomes.
 
Course Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the rationale behind 'why negotiate'.
  • Describe the three P's of negotiation.
  • Identify and take control of an 'emotional' atmosphere.
  • Identify and use tactics and counter tactics in negotiations.
  • Explain positional and principled bargaining.
  • Describe and list the various phases of negotiation.
  • Demonstrate techniques for securing lasting agreement.
  • Demonstrate an ability to negotiate win-win situations.

Negotiating is frequently part of our day to day interactions. Many people look upon negotiating as an unpleasant, stressful chore to be avoided at all costs. And, because they're uncomfortable with negotiating and the confrontation and risk-taking it entails, they frequently get the short end in bargaining sessions.
