Workplace Relationships Workshops

Effective Workplace Relationships

Duration: 1 Day

Have you ever worked with someone who was confident and assured; who showed respect to others and who gained their respect; who communicated with people in a clear and direct way that made them feel good about themselves? People like this invariably have effective working relationships. Others enjoy working with them because they know they can trust them and depend on them to say what they think and keep their promises. They respect them because they do their work well and achieve results. They work in ‘give and take’ relationships, from which everyone benefits.

People skills have begun to gain greater significance in recent years as we realise that being able to get along with each other not only makes for better working relationships but for a better life in general.

Course Goals:

To provide participants with the opportunity to explore the interpersonal skills that are integral to creating effective workplace relationships.

Course Objectives:

Upon completing this session participants will be able to:

  • Identify the behaviours that develop trust and confidence in the workplace
  • Describe the role self-perception plays in determining effective workplace relationships
  • Explain the role of interpersonal/work team communication
  • Expand the concept of communication into authentic dialogue and empathic inquiry to further understand people in terms of motivation and managing relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Work with team members to articulate future directions and create workable goals and strategies to achieve stated outcomes
  • Identify the elements which contribute to effective workplace relationships and create strategies to practise and learn these to create effective relationships
