Performance Management

There are many text-book definitions for Performance Management but in essence it is about aligning and measuring individual performance expectations and accountabilities to achieve business results.
It is:
  • An agreement between a person and their higher-up about “what matters most”.
  • An ongoing process that establishes clear goals and expectations and a plan to achieve them.
  • A process of continuous authentic dialogue for supporting those goals and expectations.
There are a number of factors which impact on how well an individual works. Knowing what these factors are enables us to find out what is going on in a particular situation and not just blame employee’s attitude. They form a diagnostic tool which when combined with feedback, enables correction and further development.

To examine the factors impacting on performance, Lifelong Learning has developed a workshop that uses the performance equation developed by Ainsworth and Smith (1993). The workshop is ideal for organisations that are looking to embed a culture of continuous improvement and performance coaching through an easy to understand model underpinned by sound communication through feed-back and feed-forward processes.

Our team has also been involved in developing policy and procedure followed by facilitating focus groups and individual and group coaching to support implementation of this very important aspect of organisational development.
